In the fall of 2016, I interned with the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Higher Education Solution Network (HESN). The Higher Education Solutions Network (HESN) is a partnership between USAID and seven top universities, designed to channel the ingenuity of university students, researchers, and faculty towards global development. HESN’s Technical Convening (TechCon) 2016, co-hosted by MIT and USAID, is an annual convening of researchers, students, entrepreneurs and innovators, development experts, field practitioners, and private sector representatives focused on highlighting cutting-edge solutions to critical development challenges.

As part of my internship, I created the session, innovation, and speaker catalogs to inform participants about the presenting researchers and their innovations to promote attendance and facilitate the event’s programming. Using InDesign, I consistently updated and confirmed participants’ information and their session and presenter details. Over 400 participants attended the event and HESN received wide acclaim among institutional partners.
