Tully Center

During the 2016-2017 academic year, I worked with the Tully Center for Free Speech at the S.I. Newhouse School of Syracuse University as a graduate assistant. The center promotes and supports free speech through research, education and a series of events, including the annual Tully Award for Free Speech.

I helped the center plan and execute its 2016 Tully Award ceremony that would award Jason Rezaian, an journalist of the Washington Post, for his free speech advocacy in his work in Iran. Using InDesign, I created the event poster and program to generate awareness about the event and Mr. Rezaian’s accomplishments, inform audiences about the Tully Center and Tully Award, and support attendance. I also managed the center’s social media before and during the ceremony. Over 200 students and faculty attended the event and the center’s social media received 40 mentions, 15 retweets, and several favorites.
